    Alta is a small town located 45 minutes southeast of both the Salt Lake International Airport and Salt Lake City. In the Wasatch Mountains in Little Cottonwood Canyon, the town rests 8,600 feet above sea level with surrounding peaks of 11,000 feet! Alta is within U.S. National Forest boundaries. Alta is located a mile from the Snowbird ski resort and within 90 minutes of Park City and five other local ski areas.
